My friends, I've been out at the EAA air show in Oshkosh with my brother and my son — and I'll tell you, if you love airplanes even a little, put that trip on your calendar for next year. But while I was gone, New Jersey handed us something I've been waiting for: evidence.

Governor Mikie Sherrill admitted this week that 6,600 non-citizens were added to New Jersey's voter rolls between 2023 and 2024, and that nearly 400 of them actually cast a ballot. Most of these weren't people intentionally gaming the system. They checked the box saying "I am not a citizen" at the DMV — and the system registered them to vote anyway. These are the people who followed the rules, and the rules still failed them. (Of course, at least 400 of them decided to vote, so they did the game the system.) But if that's what happens when people aren’t trying to break the rules, what happens when they do?

Evidence is "information, facts, or objects that help prove whether something is true or false." Proof is a higher bar — evidence so complete it's undeniable. I'm not claiming proof. I'm claiming evidence. And 6,600 names on a voter roll that shouldn't be there, with roughly 400 ballots cast, is evidence. It's not nothing. It's not "misinformation." It's a Democrat governor, at a podium, openly admitting it.

Watch what happens next, though: the goalposts move. A year ago, the media line was "there's no evidence this happens at all." Now that a Democrat governor has handed them evidence, the line has quietly changed to "well, it's not widespread." That's not analysis, my friends. That's damage control.

This is exactly why the SAVE America Act matters — proof of citizenship to register, photo ID to vote, and an end to blanket mail-in ballots nobody asked for. Senator Mike Lee said it plainly on the Senate floor this week: there isn't a single legitimate argument to oppose this legislation. And he's right. DHS says New Jersey isn't alone — 278,000 non-citizens are registered to vote across just four states.

We don't need every data point to know something's broken here. We just need our common sense and the humility to admit when the people defending this system have been wrong. New Jersey just proved that. Keep the pressure on your senators, my friends. This one's worth being loud about.

Our government exists by the consent of the governed, not the other way around. Every generation has to relearn that lesson, and New Jersey just gave us a fresh reminder of why it matters. When 6,600 people who checked "not a citizen" on a form still ended up on the voter rolls — and nearly 400 of them voted — that's not a technicality. That's the machinery of self-government breaking down at the most basic level: who gets to decide who governs us.

This is the pattern with government at every level — a slow, consistent drift away from our founding principles. Systems get built, nobody double-checks them, and by the time someone notices, hundreds of thousands of names are sitting where they shouldn't be. DHS says four states alone have 278,000 non-citizens registered. That's not a conspiracy theory. That's an audit finding.

The fix isn't complicated: verify citizenship at registration, show ID at the polls, stop mailing ballots to everyone whether they asked for one or not. You don't need a law degree to know that — you need the same common sense you'd use anywhere else in your life. Call your senator. Show up to your county party meeting. Strongly promote the SAVE America Act everywhere you can. This only gets fixed by people who refuse to look away.
