My friends, I am pleased to have my friend, John Crane, fill in on today’s Toddcast. The following is a summary of his message, which you can hear in it’s entirety here.

We are living in what can only be described as a civilizational moment. A fork in the road. A defining stretch of history where the decisions we make — or refuse to make — will shape not only our future, but the future our children inherit.

It’s easy to look around and feel overwhelmed. Cultural confusion. Political instability. Moral drift. Technological acceleration. We can see the fractures forming in real time. And the temptation is to say, “Someone should do something.”

But here’s the truth: leadership is not reserved for people with titles. Leadership is intentional influence. And that means every single one of us has a role to play.

We don’t have to “save the world.” But we are responsible for our corner of it.

So let me ask you four questions that have been shaping my own thinking:

  • What is the good in our culture that we can promote, protect, and celebrate?

  • What is missing that we can creatively contribute?

  • What is evil that we can courageously stop?

  • What is broken that we can help restore?

Leadership is intentional influence — and influence is a choice.

John Crane

These aren’t abstract philosophical exercises. These are daily marching orders.

You don’t need a title to lead. You don’t need a microphone, a Senate seat, or a platform. You need a decision — a bias toward action. An on-mission mindset.

Like the NASA janitor in 1962 who told President Kennedy, “I’m helping put a man on the moon.” He understood the mission. He understood his part. And he acted accordingly.

The same is true for us.

As goes the heartland, so goes the country. As goes the country, so goes the world. The influence of America is real. But the influence of you — in your home, your church, your workplace, your community — is just as real in the lives you touch.

Perhaps you were placed here for such a time as this.

Let’s choose to lead.
Let’s choose to build.
Let’s choose to restore.

The mission is in front of us.

Leadership is not about position. It is about influence — and influence begins with a choice.

Todd Talk: God-Given Rights vs Government Power

My friends, your rights don’t come from Washington — and they can’t take them away.

The Founders didn’t invent freedom. They recognized it. They understood our rights come from God — not politicians, not judges, not agencies with acronyms.

And that matters.

Because if government gives you rights, government can redefine them, limit them, cancel them.

But if your rights are God-given, government’s job is to protect them — not determine them.

That’s the genius of the Declaration of Independence. It’s not just some old piece of parchment. It’s a bold, timeless claim that radically transformed life on earth for the better.

So when you hear politicians talk like they’re the source of your liberty, understand what’s happening.

They’re trying to play God.

But fortunately, that role’s already filled perfectly by Someone else.
