My friends, Elon Musk recently said that he agrees with the teachings of Jesus. And I’ll be honest with you — I respect that. In a culture that increasingly mocks faith, dismisses Scripture, and tries to erase the influence of Christianity from public life, even openness toward Jesus is noteworthy.
But here’s the question we must wrestle with: Is agreeing with the teachings of Jesus enough?
That’s not a political question. That’s not a partisan question. That is the most important decision you will ever make.
You see, many people today want the inspiration of Jesus without the authority of Jesus. They want the Golden Rule. They want “turn the other cheek.” They admire His compassion and His moral clarity. But they stop short of acknowledging who He actually claimed to be.
And that’s where the problem lies.
C.S. Lewis famously argued that Jesus did not leave us the option of calling Him merely a great moral teacher. If a man claims to be God — if He forgives sins, accepts worship, declares “Before Abraham was, I AM,” and calls Himself the Son of Man from Daniel’s prophecy — then we are forced into a decision.
Either He was lying.
Or He was delusional.
Or He is Lord.
There is no comfortable middle ground.
Jesus is either a liar, a lunatic, or the Lord. Those are the choices. He did not leave us the option of calling Him just a great teacher.
Our modern culture desperately wants that middle ground. It wants spirituality without surrender. It wants inspiration without obedience. It wants to applaud Jesus without bowing before Him.
But Jesus didn’t leave that option open.
This isn’t just theological theory. It connects directly to the foundation of Western civilization and the American experiment. Our Founders declared that our rights come not from government, but from our Creator. That idea rests on the reality of a moral Lawgiver. Without God, morality becomes preference. Rights become permissions granted by power. Freedom becomes fragile.
If Jesus is who He claimed to be, then truth is objective. Morality is real. Human dignity is anchored in something eternal. But if He was merely a moral teacher — just one voice among many — then everything becomes negotiable.
And that is exactly the battle we are living through today.
The ideological “Cold War” in America is ultimately a spiritual one. It’s a clash between those who believe rights come from God and those who believe rights come from man. It’s a conflict between absolute truth and manufactured truth.
So when Elon Musk says he agrees with Jesus’ teachings, I genuinely hope that’s part of a journey. I hope it leads to the ultimate question: Who is Jesus?
Because agreeing with His teachings is not the finish line. It’s the doorway.
The Bible tells us that even the demons believe — and tremble. Belief in God’s existence is not the same as surrendering to His authority. Scripture says if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved.
Notice that word: Lord.
That’s not advisory. That’s authority.
Each of us must answer this question personally. Not culturally. Not politically. Personally.
Jesus is either liar, lunatic, or Lord.
And that decision — my friends — is the most important one you will ever make
Conservative, not bitter.

Todd Talk: Illinois CDL Audit Exposes Government Failure
My friends, I firmly believe the level of fraud and incompetence in government would shock the average American. Case in point: an audit of commercial driver’s licenses in Illinois found nearly 20 percent of non-domiciled CDLs in a sample were issued unlawfully.
These are licenses for semis, tractor trailers, and school buses. And Illinois is getting one out of five of them wrong.
Imagine getting your tax return wrong 20 percent of the time. Would the IRS just shrug? Of course not. And we shouldn’t either.
The constitutional role of government is pretty boring. Secure borders. Build roads. Protect Americans. Keep records straight. But too often, politicians chase utopias instead of doing the basics well.
We need our government back in its boring lane. That’s a prerequisite to making America great again.
