My friends, we are watching a situation unfold that hits close to home—literally at the gas pump—but also reaches far beyond it into global politics, economics, and national security.

Over the past several days, Iran has effectively shut down the Strait of Hormuz, one of the most critical oil chokepoints in the world. Roughly 20% of global oil supply flows through that narrow passage. When that flow is disrupted—or even threatened—the ripple effects are immediate. Prices spike. Markets react. And you feel it when you fill up your tank.

Now, here’s where I want to slow things down and bring some clarity, because this is where so many voices in the media get it wrong—or at least blur the lines. What we’re seeing right now is not true inflation.

Yes, prices are going up. That part is undeniable. But inflation, in its real economic sense, is not simply rising prices. Inflation is the result of too much money chasing too few goods—the result government policy and excessive money creation. What we’re dealing with today is something very different: a supply shock.

Inflation and rising prices are not necessarily the same thing—and if we don’t understand that, we’ll never understand what’s really happening to our economy.

Todd Huff

When a major artery of oil transportation is restricted, the available supply tightens. Fear and uncertainty amplify that pressure. And just like that, prices surge. That’s exactly what we’re seeing right now.

And here’s the key takeaway: this kind of price spike can reverse—quickly. When supply is restored, when stability returns, prices can come back down. That’s very different from true inflation, which tends to linger and compound over time.

Meanwhile, President Trump has issued a direct and unmistakable ultimatum to Iran: reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours or face significant military consequences, including potential strikes on critical infrastructure.

That’s not posturing. That’s a line in the sand.

The reality is, this response isn’t coming out of nowhere. Iran’s actions—combined with years, even decades, of growing instability—have brought us to this point. The administration knew there would be consequences. The question now is how far Iran is willing to push—and how quickly this situation escalates or resolves.

There’s also a broader lesson here. When global threats are ignored or downplayed for long periods of time, they don’t simply disappear. They build. They evolve. And eventually, they demand a response.

We’re seeing that play out in real time.

Before I wrap today, I also addressed the passing of Robert Mueller. His role in one of the most contentious political investigations in modern history leaves behind a tarnished legacy, no doubt. While President Trump’s reaction to Mueller’s death has drawn attention—and criticism—I shared my perspective on why some things are better left unsaid, especially in moments like these.

As always, my goal is simple: cut through the noise, focus on truth, and help you make sense of what’s actually happening beneath the headlines.

We’ll continue to watch these things closely, my friends. Because what happens next won’t just impact foreign policy—it will impact your daily life.

Conservative, not bitter.

Todd Talk | ICE Is Not Iran’s Revolutionary Guard — Let’s Be Clear

My friends, the Radical Left has always struggled with analogies. Their worldview is broken, so eager to hate America, that they lose all sense of perspective.

The latest example? Tom Rogers, the founder of CNBC, going on MSNBC and saying this: “We shouldn’t have ICE running around acting like the Iranian Republican Guard, roughing people up on the streets without the constraints that police operate in in this country.”

Let’s make this clear for Mr. Rogers: the Iranian Revolutionary Guard beats, imprisons, and even kills its own citizens. It runs political prisons. Supports terrorism abroad. And carries out kidnappings and assassinations.

And the Left wants you to think ICE is the same.

My friends, enforcing legitimate immigration law is not the same as operating a terrorist organization. And those with a brain know the difference.

Even We Miss The Mark … Sometimes

Even yours truly messes up once in a while.

Last week, we had a couple hiccups with the newsletter. Nothing catastrophic. But not up to our standard either.

Here’s what happened.

After each Toddcast, we save a draft of the newsletter and schedule it to go out. Simple. Proven. Reliable.

Until it wasn’t.

First, I let some behind-the-scenes growing pains distract me … and I missed my window to make my final edits.

That one’s on me.

Then, a certain unnamed member of our team (we protect the innocent here) scheduled the next issue to go out an hour early.

Maybe you noticed. Maybe you didn’t. Either way … I did.

Growing pains, my friends.

But hear me on this … we’re tightening it up, cleaning it up, and making sure this thing runs the way it should.

Because you deserve consistency. You deserve reliability.

And that’s exactly what we’re committed to delivering.
