Today is Constitution Day.

Two hundred thirty-nine years ago, in Philadelphia, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention put their names to a document and sent it out to the states to ratify.

It’s one of the most beautiful and magnificent things ever written by human hands. The Declaration of Independence sits right there beside it.

The greatest writing that has ever existed, or ever will, is the Holy Bible. I want to be clear about that. But among the things men have written, these two are at the top of the list.

This document turned the way governments typically worked on its head.

Governments like to hand their people a list of what they’re permitted to do. Today, as in the 18th Century, these dictates are issued by the ruling class. And their mandates and edicts could be changed any time they felt like changing it.

But not in America.

The Constitution opens with the words, We the People. We are the ones granting government authority, not the other way around.

In the Constitution, we handed the government a short, very specific, clearly identified list of things it is allowed to do — and how it is supposed to do it. The people and the states retained everything else not delegated to the federal government.

As an American, you are not a subject. You are a citizen.

Our freedoms did not come from Philadelphia and they don’t come from Washington. They came from Almighty God, and the Declaration made that clear eleven years prior to the signing of the Constitution.

That is the foundation upon which this country is built. The articles within the Constitution lay out the branches of government and what each one of them may do.

Nine states had to ratify the Constitution before it would be implemented, and New Hampshire was the ninth, on June 21st of 1788.

The Bill of Rights came four years after the signing, in December of 1791, as the first ten amendments. It enumerates some, but certainly not all, of the rights that the people of the United States would retain.

But today, my friends, we have deviated from this document. Badly.

Our system of government is very sound. The problem lies not with the system, but with the people operating it.

In many, many cases they simply are not following the document.

Slowly but surely, decade after decade, the political ruling class has taken more and more power from the hands of the American people.

And candidly, there is a group of people who are clamoring for the government to take even more of their freedom in exchange for the illusion of security and government handouts.

What an absolutely terrible trade to make.

Some of these folks even go so far as to say they want to remove the Constitution altogether.

Included in that group are the radicals running the Democratic Socialists of America.

They understand the Constitution is an obstacle to what they want to make America into. So the Constitution has to go, and of course, something else has to take its place. That "something" is not American.

It bothers me greatly how little the next generation has been told about any of this.

Truth be told, the American education system has earned a solid F on teaching our students about the Constitution, American history, and the Great American Experiment.

To make matters worse, a lot of folks responsible for educating our young people spend an enormous amount of time telling them how terrible this country is, and almost none telling them how blessed we and the rest of the world are because of the existence of the United States of America.

I'm under no delusion: America is far from perfect. In fact, she's guilty of some genuinely terrible things along the way, and I don't pretend otherwise.

But the ideas in these two documents have lifted untold millions of people out of poverty. They handed opportunity to people all across the globe who previously had none. And they treated a person's God-given liberty as something the government has no business messing with.

By the grace of God, America has been a shining city on a hill.

These documents have earned my deepest respect and appreciation.

Instead of apologizing for being American, I am grateful.

Because of this great nation, and because of the documents that led to this great American experiment, we have experienced blessings that most of those who have lived throughout the history of the world cannot remotely comprehend.

And it all started two hundred thirty-nine years ago today.

We are indeed a blessed people, my friends.

I hope more people come to recognize that before the Constitution's 240th birthday.

The Constitution — and the people defending it — are the only things standing between America and whatever tyranny the lovers of big government dream of implementing next.

The man who would not go along on the Lindsay Clancy jury has identified himself.

His name is Michael P. Desronvil. He is 48. He lives in Bridgewater, Massachusetts.

He talked with Ray Marcel of Fugitive TV after the mistrial was declared on September 4th.

I want to be careful here. This is only what has been reported at this time — and I cannot independently confirm this.

But Marcel says he has evidence the man was on the jury, and the story has been picked up by various media outlets since.

What Desronvil describes is a deliberation room that had largely made its mind up before the work even really started.

Eight jurors argued Lindsay Clancy was not guilty on day one. Two said she was guilty, and two others were uncertain.

He says it remained much the same after that, every day, with the eight jurors convinced she was not guilty trying to persuade the other four of them day in and day out.

Desronvil says those eight jurors felt like activists.

But that’s not how jurors should behave.

A jury has one job: decide whether the state proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.

If it did, the jury should deliver a guilty verdict. If it did not, the jury should deliver a not guilty verdict.

While a verdict may be difficult to unanimously reach, it’s a straightforward mission.

Lindsay Clancy's own lawyers never disputed that she killed Cora, Dawson and Callan. The entire defense was built on that accepted fact.

Their argument was not that she didn't kill them, but rather that she should not be held criminally responsible for it.

Desronvil says he reviewed the evidence and concluded Lindsay Clancy understood what she was doing. He also says the other guilty vote, a woman, caved to the other eight activists at the last minute.

He believes at least some of the criticism he has faced is because he is a black conservative Republican with Catholic beliefs.

The press has gone through his personal life from the very moment they learned his name.

NBC10 Boston reported his criminal history. The Boston Globe reported a 2021 charge of assaulting his then-wife, which was dismissed, along with an eviction case.

Desronvil says he disclosed this arrest in writing and was asked about it during jury selection. He said, "I did not lie on the questionnaire."

But what does any of this have to do with the Lindsay Clancy case, my friends? Nothing.

Desronvil has been doxxed because he dared oppose the Radical Left's insistence that Lindsay Clancy should not be held criminally responsible for killing her three children.

And because he opposed the godless Radical Left, he faces threats and continued doxxing about his identity and personal information.

These Radical Leftists are acting like domestic terrorists.

The purpose of all these shenanigans is to get even with Desronvil and to send a message to anyone else who dares oppose the official narrative and worldview of the Radical Left.

But still, in spite of the evil and outright delusion being screamed by the Lindsay Clancy Fan Club, Desronvil has stood firm.

He's a hero for following the law and refusing to be intimidated into capitulating.

My hat is off to him.
