Todd's Take
My friends, we just wrapped up our 11th anniversary of the Toddcast, and if there's one thing I've said from the mountaintop the entire time I've been behind this microphone, it's this: today's Democrat Party leadership left you a long time ago.
The people running that party have lost their minds — whatever was left of them. But there are still plenty of rank-and-file Democrats out there who don't embrace any of this — even if they end up supporting it every time they cast their ballots. The truth is, the average rank-and-file Democrat has more in common with you and me than with the leadership of their own party. And that isn't about to change anytime soon.
This week gave us even more proof, straight from the Democratic Socialists' own mouths. A clip surfaced of DSA leaders telling their own members, on camera, that supporting the DSA platform is now a requirement for their endorsement.
And that platform isn't hidden. They want to abolish the U.S. Senate. They want to abolish the presidency. They want to radically remake the Supreme Court. And one of those young leaders shrugged it all off like it was nothing — "I don't know what we'd call it in the future, maybe the head honcho or something" — as if scrapping two and a half centuries of constitutional structure is a simple rebranding exercise.
Then we watched Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a card-carrying member of the DSA's New York City chapter, sit across from Jonathan Karl and get asked a question she should have been prepared to answer — but she wasn’t. The question: what's the difference between socialism and communism? Surprisingly — or maybe not so surprisingly — AOC couldn't easily answer it. She somehow landed on "democracy" instead, as if pure majority rule were the safeguard here, not the actual danger.
Here's what she's missing, and what I want to make sure we don’t: our Founders were deeply skeptical of pure democracy. That's exactly why they built a constitutional republic. It's why we have a Bill of Rights. And it's why our Constitution protects the smallest minority there is — the minority of one.
No matter what fifty-one percent of the country votes for, your right to speak, to worship, and to keep what you've earned isn’t suddenly up to the whims and wishes of others. At least it shouldn’t be. Those rights come from God. That's the premise this entire country was built on, and it's one of the ideas today's socialists find most unpleasant, most annoying, maybe most problematic of all.
I often hear young leftists, when reporters stop them on the street, say we're "being led by fascists." Ask them to define the term and you'll get silence, or a whole lot of nonsense. They simply repeat what they've been told. They've completely bought in to the politicians who've vowed to fight fascism — and then unwittingly let those same politicians define who the fascists are, without the slightest idea whether any of it is true.
My friends, this fight for the survival of our constitutional republic is going to be here for the rest of our lives — and the entirety of our kids' and grandkids' lives, too. We have to come to grips with that.
As Reagan put it, freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. If we want to continue the success this great nation has had, we have to win the argument — not with contempt, but with truth, proclaimed clearly, over and over, for as long as it takes to reach the people who need to hear it most.
Conservative, not bitter.

Do You Know Where Your Money Goes After You Spend It?
My friends, do you know where your money actually goes after you spend it? Plenty of well-known brands take your dollars and quietly funnel real money to the same leftist causes and candidates you seek to defeat each and every day.
We can't allow that to happen.
That's exactly why we built Freedom Marketplace — a free, searchable directory of businesses that have pledged not to fund leftist candidates or causes. Think of it as a place where you can find patriotic businesses pushing in the same direction you are.
Browse it, bookmark it, and start shifting your spending toward people who actually share your values — the values that have made America the greatest nation on earth.
Check out Freedom Marketplace today. Liberty and business for all.
Quote of the Day
"It is of great importance in a republic not only to guard the society against the oppression of its rulers, but to guard one part of the society against the injustice of the other part."

The Christmas Tree Ornament That Shows Just How Much The Left Loves Communists
Back in 2009, the Obama White House hung a Christmas tree ornament shaped like Mao Zedong on the National Christmas Tree. Mao, if you need reminding, ran the Chinese Communist Party through the Cultural Revolution and is blamed for tens of millions of deaths through famine, purges, and forced collectivization — one of the deadliest regimes in human history.
When it was flagged at the time, the reaction from much of the press wasn't outrage. It was eye-rolling at the people who had a problem with it.
That gap is still with us today. The same crowd that will spend a week calling the sitting president worse than any dictator in history has never spent one second explaining an actual Mao ornament on the White House Christmas tree, of all things.
For a group that sees signs of fascism in everything Trump says, they certainly seem quite oblivious and dangerously unconcerned with actual communist symbols, ideas, and language coming from the political left in America. In fact, this sort of thing does not even register on the left, while every conservative is presumed guilty of the worst until proven otherwise.
If you want to know how serious Democrats are about actual tyrants, watch how willing they are to cozy up to the same Communist ideas that killed over 100 million people in the 20th Century.
