What's in the Democrats' 92-Page Platform, and Why Today's Democrats Want to Go Even Further

On the Toddcast today, I promised you an article on the Democrat Party platform. Here it is.

The Democrats' most recent national platform was adopted in August 2024 at their convention in Chicago. It runs 92 pages, and it was written for Joe Biden's re-election — even though party bosses pushed Biden out and replaced him with Kamala and her word salads. But the platform remained the same.

So what's in it? Tax hikes on the wealthy. Defending the killing of babies. More government, which equals less freedom.

They want to raise the corporate tax rate from 21% to 28% and make billionaires pay a minimum income tax of 25%. I wonder how much money they think the average billionaire earns in an annual, standard income, but I digress.

They promise to pass national legislation to "make Roe the law of the land again," and they want to repeal the Hyde Amendment, which keeps your tax dollars from paying for most abortions.

They want universal background checks, a national red flag law, and a ban on so-called assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

And they want to make Washington, DC a state. (DC should never become a state — and if it should, it should be returned to the state of Maryland, where it originated.)

But in many ways, this platform is already outdated. In fact, today's Democrats want to go even further into the insanity of the woke, radical left.

Abdul El-Sayed, the Democrat running for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, said earlier this year that abolishing ICE is "the only safe path forward."

ICE is the agency that carries out deportations. Get rid of it, and you've taken a big first step toward reestablishing open borders again.

And when Republicans brought a bill to the House floor in January 2025 to keep biological men out of women's sports, all but two House Democrats voted against it. So you can add the delusional trans agenda to the Democrat list of priorities in 2026, too.

More spending. Higher taxes. Less freedom. Less speech. Gun control. Murdering babies. Biological men playing in women's sports.

This isn't about how tax dollars get spent anymore. It's about whether America stays America or is fundamentally turned upon its head.

Ilhan Omar Hasn't Been Charged. Here's Where the Investigation Stands.

On October 12, federal agents with Homeland Security Investigations searched Ilhan Omar's Washington-area home under a court-approved search warrant.

She has not been charged with anything. But the investigation is moving forward.

According to NBC News and Fox News, it centers on possible fraud and false statements in her family's immigration paperwork. That includes whether her late father lied on immigration forms, and whether she derived her citizenship from a father who himself may not have been eligible.

Agents reportedly seized her phone, computers and passport. Grand jury subpoenas reportedly went to her sister and other relatives. And DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin has said investigators expect to present their case to a grand jury.

Then there's the marriage question. For a decade, writers at Alpha News, Power Line and PJ Media have published records they say show the man she married in 2009 is her brother. Townhall rounded up 25 of those articles this weekend.

Last week, when MS NOW's Chris Hayes asked whether she was related to him, her answer was, "Not to my knowledge." I wrote about that last week.

There's a separate probe, too. The U.S. Attorney in Washington, Jeanine Pirro, has confirmed her office is looking at Omar's financial disclosures. One year she reported as little as about $15,000 in business assets. The next, as much as $30 million. Omar blames an accounting error. Ok.

Omar calls the search an attempt to "weaponize federal law enforcement" against political enemies, and her lawyers say the Justice Department broke the judge's rules for searching a member of Congress's home.

So what happens next? Most likely a grand jury. If prosecutors can prove fraud, she could face charges like false statements or naturalization fraud, and possibly an effort to strip her citizenship. Vice President JD Vance has said denaturalization is possible only "if the facts support it."

Meanwhile, she's on the ballot a week from tomorrow, seeking a fifth term in Minnesota's 5th District against Republican John Nagel.

The Justice Department has a long-standing, unwritten practice of avoiding overt steps against candidates close to an election. So we shouldn't expect charges before November 3.

But after that, all bets are off.

Quote of the Day

❝

Let each Citizen remember, at the Moment he is offering his Vote, that he is not making a Present or a Compliment to please an Individual, or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn Trusts in human Society, for which he is accountable to GOD and his Country.

Samuel Adams, Boston Gazette, April 2, 1781
